Here’s a sampling of my short fiction. I’ve had more than thirty published in various anthologies for Cleis Press, Stupid Fish Productions and others. These are a few of my shorter, odder favorites.

Portrait Gallery:

The pieces in this menu are not what you might call “proper” stories. They are character sketches – portraits of characters who don’t yet have a story.

When this happens, I create a snapshot of the character. I try to make the portrait as detailed and full as I can. I want to get attached. Some of these characters end up in stories of their own while others take on tertiary roles elsewhere. What they all have in common is that I liked them, and didn’t want to let them recede quietly back into the storehouse of my mind.
